I hold a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and am certified to teach mathematics in grades 6–12. I have over 20 years of experience in education, much of it in alternative and independent learning environments. Throughout my career, I have served as a math teacher, department chair, academic dean, and school principal. Each of these roles has shaped my understanding of how students learn and deepened my commitment to helping them become confident, independent thinkers.
I am passionate about helping students develop a deep, conceptual understanding of mathematics rather than simply memorizing procedures. With that foundation, they are better able to reason logically, recognize patterns, make connections, and approach unfamiliar problems with confidence.
Over the course of my teaching career, I have developed my own comprehensive math curriculum designed to promote long-term retention, critical thinking, and problem solving. One of my greatest joys as a teacher is watching students discover that mathematics can actually make sense—and seeing the confidence that grows from that realization.
Above all, I strive to create a supportive classroom where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking intellectual risks. My goal is to help students become not only stronger mathematicians, but more confident and independent learners.
